Problem Note 67757: The object spawner stops launching workspace-server processes

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In certain situations, the object spawner might stop launching workspace-server processes. This problem can occur under the following conditions:

  • The workspace server is configured to be launched by the grid.
  • Object-spawner processes are running on multiple nodes in the grid.

When this problem occurs, the object-spawner log file size rapidly grows due to the following warning being logged continually:

The load balancing processor could not send update to peer

The problem can occur when a network disruption prevents communication between the object spawners. The following warning might be written to the object-spawner log:

Load Balancing interface call failed with exception <?xml version="1.0" ?><Exceptions><Exception><SASMessage severity="Error">The outcall request did not complete in the time allotted.</SASMessage></Exception></Exceptions>

A workaround is to run a single object-spawner process in the grid environment.
